We are incredibly excited and deeply honored to share some wonderful news with our community. For the upcoming season, Racial Unity Now (RUN) has been selected as the featured nonprofit partner for the Round-It-Up giving program at Village Books and Paper Dreams!
If you’ve ever browsed the shelves at Village Books or hunted for the perfect gift at Paper Dreams, you know how much they care about our local community. Through their amazingly simple Round-It-Up initiative, they make it easy for shoppers to support grassroots change right here in Whatcom County.
How It Works
The next time you make a purchase at either the Village Books or Paper Dreams locations, you’ll have the opportunity to change your total to the nearest dollar. Simply tell your sales associate at the register, “I’d like to Round It Up!”
Every single cent from that difference will go directly to Racial Unity Now, directly funding our local mission to foster empathy through relationships, understanding through education, and transformation through civic engagement.
Small Change, Big Impact
Whether it’s a few cents or a nearly a dollar, those small contributions add up to make a massive difference. The funds raised through this partnership will directly support our ongoing local initiatives, including:
-
Peace Camp and youth programs
-
Flavors of Community gatherings
-
Be the Bridge book and discussion groups
-
Migrant support kits and practical, hands-on justice work
Community transformation always begins with personal transformation—and sometimes, it can start with the simple choice to round up your receipt.
We want to extend a massive thank you to the team at Village Books and Paper Dreams for standing with us and giving us this platform, and to all of you who continue to support our work. Next time you need a great book or a special gift, please consider stopping by, supporting a fantastic local business, and rounding up for racial unity!
