Our second North Whatcom County immigration networking gathering included organizational and civic leaders. This periodic, invitation-based event is designed to help us concentrate on local issues and shared goals in the support of immigrants.
The effort aims to unite community leaders to support new migrants through informational sharing and relationship. Presentations at this meeting were made by our county executive Satpal Sidhu, immigration attorney Hannah Stone, and Mennonite Central Committee West Coast director, Dina Gonzalez-Pina
While this meeting was not open to the general public, it underscores our commitment to working collaboratively behind the scenes to ensure that all community members, especially new migrants, receive the support and welcome they deserve.
